4m: forever
4m

4m members

When 4m was formed in 1998, the original members were Tyler Standage (20), Nathan Whetten (20), Spencer Pettit (19), and Spencer Hale (19). Together, they developed the concept, music, and style of 4m. Tyler and Nathan have since left the group to serve missions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. In the mean time, while awaiting their mission calls, the younger members of the group (Pettit and Hale) did some recruiting and reformed the group. The new members of 4m are Kenny Riewerts (18) and Lee Taylor (19). 4m has stopped singing once again as Hale and Pettit are finally leaving. They are thrilled to have had such a great second run, and are thankful for Kenny and Lee's dedication to the group. The following are bio's of all the group members. Have fun looking around --

Nathan Whetten

Nathan Whetten sings Lead and is unquestionably the talent of 4m. His clear tone and gift of expression have been the key to so much of 4m's success. His tenor voice is unlike any we've ever heard. Because he sings Lead, he has been able to direct while singing and teach the rest of the group how to be effective musicians. Nathan has been heavily involved in music his whole life and was a member of the Gilbert High School Concert Choir and Advanced Vocal Ensemble from his Sophomore through Senior year. He was a member of All-State Jazz choir his Senior year. It's been fun having Nathan with us again, and we've loved his help and suggestions.

Tyler Standage

Tyler Standage sings Tenor for 4m. When 4m formed, Tyler didn't have a set part. He soon discovered he possessed a piercing falsetto that was a perfect asset to the quartet. Tyler held the position of Drum Major for the GHS Marching Pride during his Senior year in high school, and had much to contribute to the group on the side of rhythm and meter. Tyler has also been a member of the Gilbert High School Concert Choir and Advanced Vocal Ensemble. He is currently serving in the Guatamala City - South mission.

Spencer Pettit

Spencer Pettit sings Baritone for 4m. He can often be found anywhere that there's a piano, and he uses that ability in 4m. During practices, Pettit is always on the keys arranging, teaching, or changing 4m's repertoire. He was a member of the Gilbert High School Concert Choir and Advanced Vocal Ensemble. He was a member of Regional and All-State choirs two out of four years of high school and ranked as 2nd bass in region his Senior year. Pettit has admitted addictions to Dodge Vipers, Fire Trucks, and BYU. He reports December 5th to the Taiwan, Taichung Mission.

Kenny Riewerts

Kenny Riewerts sings Tenor/Lead for 4m. His creative input and uncommon energy contribute not only to the morale of 4m, but has improved our music at the same time sequentially making everything sweeter. Figuratively speaking, he's the double stuff in the 4m Oreo. Kenny was a member of the Mesquite High School Concert Choir and Advanced Vocal Ensemble. He also was a member of Regional and All-State Choirs his Senior year. Kenny is our Backstreet Boy and is the only 4m member to require bodyguards. He also has a hidden gift for imitating his cats: Samson, Delilah, and... Onyx? Kenny is headed for the hills of Colorado and will be leaving on his mission sometime next year.

Spencer Hale

Spencer Hale is the one and only Bass of 4m. He has an incredible range and more talent than any of us know what to do with. We're just grateful that we have been able to sing with him. Hale is a great asset to 4m in that he creates his own bass lines. Many of our songs have written leads, but require other harmonies. Hale takes the challenge and rocks the house. He was a member of the Gilbert High School Concert Choir and Advanced Vocal Ensembles and was a member of Regional and All-State choirs three out of the four years in high school ranking as first bass in region his Senior year. He was also a two year All-State Jazz choir member. Hale left November 7th to serve in the Argentina: Buenos Aires - North mission.

Lee Taylor

Lee Taylor sings Tenor/Lead for 4m. His tenor range and extraordinary ability have made the transition between group members a smooth move. Lee has taken the solos and other parts and learned them all within a month. The group has been able to move forward without any complications due to his dedication. Lee was a member of the Gilbert High School Concert Choir and Advanced Vocal Ensemble. He was a member of Regional and All-State Choir his Senior year, also participating as a member of All-State Jazz. He spends his time running from officials, as he is a paid insect hit man. Lee is reporting November 28th to serve in the Russia: Moscow South mission.
